Canal Café Theatre & Emma Taylor proudly present “NewsRevue,” the Guinness World Record-breaking, longest-running live comedy show on the planet. This iconic show continues to delight audiences at its home in Little Venice with fresh and timely humor, featuring a new cast every six weeks throughout the year.
A recognized “rite of passage for all comedy newcomers” (Chortle), NewsRevue is a current affairs parody song and sketch show known for its ability to tackle contemporary issues with wit and sensitivity. The show propels audiences through the world’s news at breakneck speed, ensuring a laugh-filled experience. Each week, brand new topical content is injected into the show by a dedicated team of writers and cast members.
In the upcoming run, audiences can look forward to a Britpop opener that promises to become an earworm and the freshest, hottest takes on the Election Campaign.
The show’s alumni include notable figures such as The League of Gentlemen, Sara Pascoe, Bill Bailey, Saskia Reeves, and Michelle Collins. The performers, described as possessing “Herculean levels of talent” (WhatsOnStage.com), are quadruple threats who excel in acting, singing, dancing, and comedy. They are supported by an on-stage musical director and consistently receive 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival each year.
