This month the National Theatre adds prominent play, Prima Facie, produced by Empire Street Productions, as part of a special autumn season for UK audiences on the NT’s streaming platform, National Theatre at Home. Following its sold-out West End run, Prima Facie was available in cinemas worldwide with National Theatre Live, in partnership with Empire Street Productions, where it became the highest grossing event cinema release of all time in the UK and Ireland.
Jodie Comer makes her ‘masterful West End debut’ (The Guardian) in the UK premiere of Suzie Miller’s award-winning play. Captured live at the intimate Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End, Comer was awarded The Stage Debut award for her solo performance as young, brilliant barrister, Tessa. Prima Facie will open on Broadway in Spring 2023.
Prima Facie is available to stream to subscribers world-wide (excluding the United States) only on National Theatre at Home from today, 8 November, until 9 March 2023. Exclusive to subscribers until 15 November, the play can then be rented for a 3-day period for £14.99.
The production will be available with captions in English and Spanish, audio-description and British Sign Language (from 9 November).
To celebrate National Theatre at Home’s second birthday, the multi-award-winning production of War Horse will also be available for a limited three-month period only. Marking the 40th anniversary of Michael Morpurgo’s unforgettable novel, on which the play is based, this acclaimed production uses iconic puppets to transport audiences of all ages on an extraordinary journey, from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France.
New productions added to the platform also include, Francesca Martinez’s powerful new play, All of Us, inspired by the real life experiences of disabled people, and classic wild comedy of love and cash, The Beaux’ Stratagem, directed by Simon Godwin; both recorded at the National Theatre. Audiences in the UK and Ireland will also be able to watch Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt, the Olivier Award-winning drama from Sonia Friedman Productions, and David Hare’s blazing new play Straight Line Crazy, with Ralph Fiennes leading as the controversial New Yorker Robert Moses, from the Bridge Theatre.
All plays are available with captions, and some titles include audio-description or British Sign Language. Find the full list here.
Membership starts from only £9.99 a month or annual subscription for £99.99, at 12 months for the price of 10, with single titles available to rent. Gift a membership this festive season, delivered straight to your recipient digitally via email within 24 hours.

I was injured and ill when avail in U.S. Cinemas. I had hoped the play would come out on *DVD for purchase. Or I’d trade for it. I wanted to see it badly, but injury was bad. Big Jodie Comer fan, she’s incredible. Hope I can find out how to see it someday, it’s a big wish. I’m sure it’s fantastic! Debbie Lariscy in N.C., USA.
