The Yard Theatre has announced the full casting for their upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. This new staging, directed by Founder and Artistic Director Jay Miller, marks a significant milestone in the theatre’s evolution as it prepares to move to a new purpose-built venue.
Sharon Small, known for her roles in Nye, Good, and Nightsleeper, will take on the role of Amanda Wingfield. Tom Varey, recognized for his performances in Hamnet and A Taste of Honey, will portray Tom Wingfield. Eva Morgan and Jad Sayegh will make their professional stage debuts as Laura Wingfield and Jim O’Connor, respectively. This casting choice underscores The Yard’s longstanding commitment to nurturing emerging talent and providing crucial early-career opportunities.
The creative team behind this production includes Jay Miller as Director, Cécile Trémolières as Set Designer, and Lambdog1066 as Costume Designer. Josh Anio Grigg will serve as Composer & Sound Designer, with Sung Im Her as Movement Director. Arthur Carrington takes on the role of Casting Director, while Edward Hilsum joins as Illusion Designer. Erin Guan rounds out the team as Set and Costume Assistant.
The Glass Menagerie tells the story of the Wingfield family, centering on a pivotal evening when a special dinner guest arrives.
