“Caught Out: Crime. Corruption. Cricket”. Netflix Documentary: The Darkest Side of the Sport

Caught Out: Crime. Corruption. Cricket is a true-crime documentary directed by Supriya Sobti Gupta.

As they say in the first few sentences… they are villains, not heroes. And we are in India, the country of cricket, a sport that millions of people follow, and which is something like the Champions League for Europeans or the NFL for Americans.

And of course, behind all this sport, there is this dark world that this excellent documentary shows us.

About the Documentary

Behind a sport followed by children there is a whole dark world, plagued by cheating and which is full of violence, the world of betting that – as in The Last Boy Scout – affects professional sports and stains its reputation with dirt.

If you want to know more about the dark side of cricket in India, this is the perfect documentary, one which gives us an excellent insight into what goes on behind the scenes of the professional sport and what corrupts and pulls it apart.

Match fixing, threats and a whole plot full of darkness.

Very, very well made, with very good editing, and it knows how to give a rhythm to the editing that makes it appealing. In addition, the post-production is very thorough.

Excellent proposal for those who want to understand the professional sport a little deeper – this time on its darker side – and from India.
