Fortune Seller: A TV Scam (Wanna) is a documentary series directed by Nicola Prosatore and Alessandro Garramone.

Wanna Marchi became the absolute queen of sales on the Italian TV shopping networks, until… at the height of her success a series of events led to her losing her TV sales royalty status.

About the Series

A massive compilation of interviews with Wanna herself, her daughter Stefania Nobile, and people she had worked with, as well investigative reporters, and acquaintances related to the “camorra”, we are introduced to this flamboyant and loud character, and are given a detailed account about her life, marriage, her work success and subsequent problems with the law, and dealings with the mafia, a bankruptcy, and resurgence. It all started in the 1980’s Italy, when TV channels had to find ways of making a revenue, thusly started the TV sales phenomenon in Italy, which moved immense sums of money.

This four part series chronicles a relatively interesting story, and gives us an insight into Wanna’s journey in 80’s and 90’s Italy, and the behind the scenes with more questionable characters.
