Do you enjoy rap or trap music? “Rhythm + Flow: Brazil” is a captivating competition designed to unearth fresh talent among the youth and give them the cultural recognition they deserve, turning them into the next big musical sensations.
This show follows the tried-and-true format of musical contests: a panel of judges evaluates several hopeful contestants who must refine their skills throughout the series. In the end, one victorious participant will walk away with 500,000 Brazilian reais (approximately $80,000) and a role in a well-known Netflix series.
To achieve this, the contestants must face off against each other, create music videos, hone their talents, and most importantly, improve their stage presence to captivate a larger audience. Their ultimate goal is to share their personal stories through music and connect with as many people as possible.
The show boasts five distinguished judges from the Brazilian rap scene: Filipe Ret, Tasha & Tracie Okereke, and Djonga. These experts will decide who stays, who goes, and ultimately, who will win the grand prize.
Rap is particularly suited for television, especially during the thrilling “battles”: two rappers face off, improvising and showcasing their musical prowess in a dynamic exchange of styles to determine who reigns supreme.
The judges will scour three different cities—Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and São Paulo—in search of musical talent. On the streets, amidst dramatic personal stories and diverse expressions, the emerging stars of this Netflix show aim to tell their unique tales through music. They strive to inspire, develop a distinct style, and make a name for themselves in an industry where countless aspirants dream of stardom.
Netflix has already released the first four episodes of this rhythm-packed series. Fans will have to wait until next Tuesday to catch new episodes brimming with stories and rap, a whole lot of rap.
Enjoy the show!
