A Vampire in the Family is a comedy starring Leandro Hassum and Edson Celulari. It is directed by Ale McHaddo.

Leandro Hassum plays a likable family man who, as a former football player, has to deal with his newly arrived brother-in-law. He begins to suspect that he is a vampire, to the disbelief (and jokes) of his neighbors and relatives.

About the movie

The new brother-in-law is handsome, modern, and seductive. He is clumsy, old, and, let’s not deny it, a little envious of the young buck. The comedy is served.

A Christmas movie that, as always, serves as a perfect vehicle for Leandro Hassum to make one of those movies tailored to his perfect measure, with the good old Leandro and his “Brazilian-style” jokes that particularly made us laugh out loud a couple of times.

It has charming dialogues, some good jokes, and the movie is well-executed, likable, without offering anything more than superficial entertainment. And you know what? Well, why not, because “A Vampire in the Family” has absolutely nothing wrong with it, it is a good production, and another occasion to be entertained by this comedian who, by playing the role he is already specialized in, becomes a bit like the Brazilian Adam Sandler.

(Although we’ll confess something: Hassum seems funnier to us than Sandler).

Our Opinion

It doesn’t harm anyone: it entertains, amuses, and is a perfect way for his star to shine once again, managing to play his favorite role. It worked for him in other productions, and he does it again in this simple, likable, and consciously predictable movie.
