About the Series
You know those people who get depressed and then buy a sports car? I don’t know anyone either, but here’s Netflix to show us their dramatic existences and to teach us that, with money, all our sorrows are easier to bear, even if they remain there; in this case, in the beating heart of a mother and, what’s more, an influencer who knows how to perfectly combine these two facets, …along with that of businesswoman, and – all at the same time – also that of wife of one of the most famous footballers in the world.
All luxury, all glamour in a kind of documentary that rewards all the wisdom that these two emanate and knows how to capture the elegance without throwing in our faces how poor, brazen and wretchedly impoverished our lives are.
This second part of Georgina Rodriguez’s life aims to show her more humble side, far from the luxury and “lifestyle of the wealthy” that was the first one. Maybe that’s why she flies in her private jet from Saudi Arabia to Madrid to go shopping, seeing as it’s cheaper for her (anyone understand anything?). Let’s forget the bit about the dressing room, the swimming pool, the escorts, etc. She lives in luxury and can’t escape it, it’s the life she wanted …and got, so congratulations to her.
Georgina’s humanity is shown when she narrates the loss of her son – an insurmountable misfortune for anybody. Perhaps then, we see a woman like any other – one who suffers, cries, falls, gets back up and carries on. It is the moment when luxury becomes meaningless and where life the great leveller shows that, unfortunately, no amount of money can ever make up for such a loss.
Yes, this is a series for us to admire the wealth, the luxury, how well the two of them do it, and that, as seen from a distance and with our unironic vision, we can admire what we will only ever experience from the other side of a screen.
Well, I’m going to put the robot at 100%, and by doing so, give myself the caviar bath that I enjoy so much.
