About the series
First five minutes of perfect execution, with hardly any dialogue, all cinema: a girl on a bicycle, the city in semidarkness in short shots and a slightly illuminated window. From the top of the building, a human body is thrown or tossed, shattered before the astonished look of a woman.
A hooking beginning.
Then we meet a mysterious character who keeps silent and begins his probation. Barely ten minutes have passed and Aitor Gabilondo gives us, shot after shot, a lesson on how to interpret a good thriller: we cannot take our eyes off the screen or we’ll miss something.
And he succeeds, because he has a mysterious central character with a story, a plot to develop and he knows how to do it, photography, good atmosphere, supporting actors, good actors…
Muted knows how to set the bar high and meet the expectations of the demanding viewers of good classics, of those who are looking for a mystery series to get hooked on this weekend.
When the elements of a thriller work well, with quality and, above all, with script and direction, we can’t help but stare at the screen and wonder what surprises this character will bring us, presented to us as an exceptionally intelligent controlling narcissist wrapped in silence.
