Obliterated is a new series directed by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. It stars Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano, Terrence Terrell, and Paola Lázaro among others.
A series that takes place in just one night: fun, without artistic aspirations, and very, very entertaining. One of those that are enjoyed and forgotten quickly.
A bit of the “old school,” one of those enjoyable productions that, without having much to say, manage to make life a little more pleasant, almost without thinking.
A good series for the upcoming holidays that, although it won’t provide much commentary, surely has millions of views.
Synopsis
A special forces team successfully foils a dangerous plot in Sin City and engages in celebratory activities. However, when a genuine threat arises, they must quickly regain focus in order to protect Las Vegas.
Series Review
A production of spies, action, terrorism, and jokes, very much in the style of the eighties: it doesn’t take the plot, the characters, or the storyline seriously. A series that remains true to the first episode: we come to have a good time and forget.
Very good technically: it is an excellent production with everything a good action series should have. Very well put together and, despite its light plot, manages to mix flashbacks with secondary characters and storylines. It behaves well at the script level, creating the environment for the development of a fun plot about spies and international terrorism in an eighties style.
It is a mixture of many movies that remain, in some way, in the collective unconscious, as if we were to mix the movies “Hangover” with “True Lies” in one night in Las Vegas.
Objective: to entertain. Does it achieve it? Certainly, we had a great time and within five minutes, you know that this series is not going to add anything to your life or provide arguments for discussion with friends, but it will surely bring a couple of smiles.
Dumb? It is everything it can and should be in a series that doesn’t take itself seriously.
And it does it very well.
Our opinion
A series to have a good time, nothing more. Very good production and editing in a fun product that passes through our lives without making much noise but leaves a pleasant aftertaste.
