The Upshaws, a working-class African American family in Indianapolis, med up of Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), the head of the household, and who works as a mechanic, Regina Upshaw (Kim Fields) is a stay-at-home mom, who tries to balance her family life while pursuing her own career goals, their two young daughters, Aaliyah (Khali Spraggins) and Maya (Journey Christine), and the teenage son, Junior (Jermelle Simon).

Mike Epps

Michael Elliot “Mike” Epps, born on November 18, 1970, is an accomplished American entertainer. He is widely recognized for his skills as a stand-up comedian, actor, film producer, writer, singer, musician, and rapper. Epps gained significant popularity for his portrayal of Day-Day Jones in the films “Next Friday” and its sequel “Friday After Next. Additionally, he shared the screen with Ice Cube in the film “All About The Benjamins. Epps also lent his voice as Boog in the animated movies “Open Season 2” and “Open Season 3.

In 2010, Epps took on the role of executive producer for a documentary focusing on the life of Napoleon, a former member of Tupac Shakur’s Outlawz. The documentary, titled “Napoleon: Life Of An Outlaw,” delves into the captivating story of the artist’s life.

Kim Fields

Kim Victoria Fields-Morgan, previously known as Kim Freeman, was born on May 12, 1969. She is an actress and director from the United States. Kim is widely recognized for her portrayals of Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey in the NBC sitcom The Facts of Life (1979–1988) and Regine Hunter in the FOX sitcom Living Single (1993–1998).

Wanda Sykes

Wanda Sykes, born on March 7, 1964, is an accomplished American writer, stand-up comedian, and actress. She received the prestigious 1999 Emmy Award for her exceptional writing on The Chris Rock Show. Her talents and humor have been recognized by Entertainment Weekly, which listed her as one of the 25 funniest individuals in America in 2004.
Sykes is widely recognized for her notable portrayal of Barb on The New Adventures of Old Christine, as well as her appearances on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. In November 2009, she debuted her own late-night talk show, The Wanda Sykes Show, on Fox. The show was aired on Saturday nights.
