Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would is a stand-up comedy special directed by David Paul Meyer.

Filmed in Toronto, Trevor Noah’s stand-up special covers a broad catalogue of topics from learning German, traveling to Switzerland (that included a short trip to Cologne, Germany), speaking ill of the dead, horror movies, the lockdown, traveling to Canada, and ordering Indian food in Scotland.

About ‘I Wish You Would’

For an hour and half Noah is nothing short of hilarious. His intro is spectacular, recounting his effort to learn German to impress his father, and in his enthusiasm about practicing Deutsch ended up scaring a shop clerk who exclaimed, “Der Schwarze Hitler!” fearful of his intonation. Schadenfreude, horror movies, the pandemic, how Africa handled the pandemic better than any other continents, conspiracy theories, the wishes granted under Covid lockdown, it goes on, there is plenty of material covered, and good jokes made. He is a master of comedy and imitation (accents), and knows how to artfully round off the show, coming full circle in the end.
