This week marks the opening of the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams, at the Giardini and the Arsenale.
Curated by Cecilia Alemani, The Milk of Dreams takes its title from a book by Surrealist painter Leonora Carrington, in which she describes a magical world where life is constantly re-envisioned through the prism of the imagination.
This year’s presentation features 213 artists from 58 countries, including Tatsuo Ikeda, Birgit Jürgenssen, and Carol Rama.
The Milk of Dreams will be open to the public April 23 through November 27, 2022.
