We are delighted to announce that Lisa Traxler will give a guided tour of her site-specific installation Outer Space on Thursday 14th September 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
In conversation with Gallery Director Polly Bielecka, Traxler will explain her fascinating making process and give a tour of her further works on display at Kings Place.
Through a detailed process of drawing, maquette building, painting and sketch work, Traxler has evolved a unique approach to making sculpture. These visual puzzles speculate on time, memory and the relationship between place and those around us, and use complex surface colour systems inspired by the dazzle and lozenge camouflages of World War One.
Traxler is a contemporary artist based on the Isle of Wight and has been the recipient of a number of awards exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe. Her work is held in both public and private collections.
This talk offers the perfect opportunity to learn more about Lisa’s work and her unique approach to making sculpture. We look forward to seeing you!
Tickets are free but require booking – you can RSVP here.
