Victor LaValle has authored a total of eight works of fiction, including five novels, two novellas, and a collection of short stories. LaValle has received notable accolades throughout his career, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, an American Book Award, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the Key to Southeast Queens. Currently residing in the Bronx with his family, he also serves as a professor at Columbia University.
