Zachary Levi Pugh, born on September 29, 1980, is an accomplished American actor, comedian, and singer. He has garnered praise for his roles as Chuck Bartowski in the television series Chuck, as well as the titular character in Shazam! and its upcoming sequel in 2022, both part of the DC Extended Universe.
Levi’s vocal talents were showcased in the 2010 animated film Tangled, where he portrayed the character Eugene Fitzherbert. He also performed the song “I See the Light” alongside Mandy Moore, which received a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. He reprised his vocal role in the 2012 short film Tangled Ever After and in the 2017 Disney Channel television series Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, based on the film. Additionally, Levi has made appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe films, namely Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, portraying the character Fandral.
On Broadway, Levi took on the role of Georg Nowack in the 2016 revival of She Loves Me, starring opposite Laura Benanti. His exceptional performance earned him a Tony Award nomination.
