Synopsis
In 1755, Captain Ludvig Kahlen, who is facing financial hardship, embarks on a challenging mission to establish a colony in the inhospitable Danish heath. His ambitious goal is to build this colony in honor of the King, in return for the prestigious Royal name he desperately desires. However, the ruthless Frederik de Schinkel, who claims sole authority over the land, arrogantly believes it rightfully belongs to him. When de Schinkel discovers that the maid Ann Barbara and her husband, who serve Kahlen, have sought refuge with him, he becomes vengeful and vows to retaliate, employing all means at his disposal to force the captain out. Despite the intimidation tactics, Kahlen refuses to back down and engages in an unequal battle, risking not only his own life but also the well-being of the outsider family that has gathered around him.
