Kill Bok-soon (キル・ボクスン) is a South Korean film directed by Byun Sung-hyun starring Jeon Do-yeon and Sol Kyung-gu.
Funny from the start, with its hilarious one-liners and stylish main character, but the movie wins us over in the action scenes, shot with a lot of punch in a movie that definitely knows when to strike.
Movie Review
Funny, ironic and, with all its brutal violence, highly entertaining and destined to stand out on account of its funny, intelligent irony and for its many moral lessons:
-Drinking may be fun, but smoking is not.
After that, the good mother devotes herself to murdering people, while at the same time, combining that activity with meetings with the mothers of students.
Very good on the aesthetic level, very curated in the photography, it knows how to maintain the pace of the story through the elaborate editing, particularly in the special scenes, those marked in red which are so designated in order to be remembered by the viewer – the fight scenes.
The rest, a little bit as “filler”, yes, but well filled and with a predictable story but with dialogues funny enough to get a smile out of us every two minutes, prepared conscientiously to develop the characters and mathematically planned to, without skipping any of the rules fulfill them all, and, at the same time, come up with a film that has enough personality to be, if not remembered, then at least savored during an almost brilliant hour and a half of good cinema.
If you don’t like John Wick, skip this one, but if you do (and we love it) it’s nearly, almost a “don’t miss it” under any circumstances: one of those action movies that, deep down, we all like a little bit.
The little girl, truly delightful.
Our opinion
We had a great time watching it. It has its own style while at the same time it knows how to resemble and yet distance itself from Asian thrillers.
One of those movies which makes you ask yourself when it ends: why the hell did I quit karate?
