Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One is an action movie directed by Christopher McQuarrie starring Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames,, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby among others.
A saga that does not disappoint and manages to surpass itself in this new chapter in what it promises and has been its unmistakable hallmark: action and entertainment.
More of the same? Absolutely.
And we loved and enjoyed this new installment of “Mission: Impossible”.
“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One”: Movie review
“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One” has everything you could expect from an action and adventure movie and, at times, it reminds us of the best moments of Indiana Jones (especially in the train scenes and the comedic touch that this new installment sometimes achieves).
Ethan Hunt is back to fight against the main protagonist of this installment, which is on everyone’s lips: the arrival of artificial intelligence. The movie revolves around a widespread fear (which is normal) that AIs will end the world and the organization as we know it, and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One” echoes this fear and turns it into a spectacular action movie that, at its core, is a very classic adventure movie lost in the age of new technologies.
The script, with this ultimate villain who is abstract, practically writes itself, you just have to add a treasure hunt in the style of Indiana Jones with two keys that come together to find a source code. The rest: perfectly orchestrated action sequences with a good joke every fifteen minutes and a lot of attractive people surrounding Tom Cruise in what is now the saga that characterizes him.
It has a soundtrack, composed by Lorne Balfe, very reminiscent of “Inception”. The pace is also relentless, with sequences that don’t give you a break, and the editing – as a good action movie demands – is simply spectacular, with scenes that are memorable.
Yes, a truly gratifying experience where only entertainment matters.
And that’s exactly what it delivers.
Our opinion
Simply a delight for lovers of adventure and action cinema.
In its genre, perfect.
Without inventing anything at all, but knowing well what the viewer has come to see.
