Seoul Vibe (Seoul Daejakjeon) is a high-speed action movie directed by Moon Hyeon-Seong, starring Yoo Ah-in, Go Kyung-pyo y Park Joo-Hyun.
A fun, but inconsequential movie that has a retro feel to it, taking us back to the 80’s.
Premise
In 1988 a group of pilots find themselves involved in one big mess.
Movie Review
This is a movie intended for lovers of high-speed and uncomplicated entertainment. It is slightly funny, and it does not seem to pretend to be more than what it is, a bland version of Fast & Furious, with fewer special effects and less action.
There more cons than pros in this movie, however, every once in a while, it manages to hit the nail on the head. Being far from being a candidate to any award, Seoul Vibe offers gratuitous and insignificant entertainment for the viewer seeking the guilty pleasure of spending two hours of their life on nothing.
There are no grand car chases, and being used to Hollywood, this movie is going to come across as quite insipid. The plot is banal, and the characters are uninteresting. But we will admit though, that it has slight whimsy in the way it reminds us of the 80โs and some movies of that era, which too were inconsequential,
but that were oh so entertaining.
This might be just a good excuse to reminisce about some of the movies from back then, that without being exceptional provided us with a good time.
Our Opinion
Inconsequential, silly, and not particularly spectacular, but perhaps the more nostalgic in the audience will acknowledge its charm as it takes them back to decades past.
