‘Totally Killer‘ is a comedy horror film directed by Nahnatchka Khan, starring Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, and Randall Park. It’s a production of Blumhouse.
“Totally killer” is a blend of comedy and horror in the slasher genre. You know, it’s a spoof of ‘Halloween’ the film and the countless Michael Myers movies.
It takes us back to the 80’s, ideal for those who are feeling nostalgic. While its cinematic quality is lacking in quality, you still might find it worth a watch.
Premise
Following the tragic murder of Jamie’s mother by a copycat killer, Jamie embarks on a journey through time to the year 1987. In this pivotal era, Jamie joins forces with her mother in a relentless pursuit to thwart the young aspiring murderer and ultimately return to her own timeline, thus avoiding the risk of being forever trapped in the past.
Review of “Totally killer”
Charming, funny, and a trip down memory lane. If you feel like seeing those old cars, flashy clothes, and all the Back to the Future aesthetics, “Totally killer” gives us the opportunity. It’s not a great film, nor does it try to be. It aims more for a made-for-TV movie rather than a blockbuster production.
Yes, back in those days, there were smokers, groups with exotic names like Bananarama, and, according to the movie, serial killers to uncover.
Is it a comedy only for people over forty? If you haven’t experienced that era, you might not find it as funny. It’s not a laugh-out-loud or hilarious film, and sometimes it’s not even that funny. But it’s made with such lightness and without many pretensions that, in a way, it’s impossible not to see the positive side of this lighthearted film that, despite going nowhere, captures the spirit of that time.
Our Opinion
“Totally killer” is an unpretentious comedy that allows you to have a good time without any expectations. A high school movie and a slasher mixed with Back to the Future that will let you enjoy a (relatively) entertaining time.
