The multi-genre (pop-country-folk-rock) music star, who has consistently maintained her very own style has been awarded for her flirt with filmmaking. This marks yet another feat in her career.

With All Too Well: The Short Film she has taken a step further and tried her luck in the world of movie screenplay writing and direction. On this particular occasion it is an interesting music video short-film melange, which, by the way, is considered the best music video in 2021, according to some critics.

Uncertain if it really is deserving of so many accolades, All Too Well: The Short Film is a well produced short-film, where everything falls into place, without relinquishing originality, and it manages to tell a story with a quite good narrative structure in three acts, making good use of very temporal markers, for example the scene with the birthday cake.

This video stands out by its photographic quality, perhaps inspired by high-concept movie making, though it could be classified as a high-end indie production, using natural colors and hues, and warm illumination that evoke some authenticity and a charming ambiance.

The most engaging scene is without doubt the argument between protagonists, performed by Sadie Sink y Dylan O’Brien, which is a one-shot sequence and portrays this part of the story efficiently, and with dialogue. As the most of the film is narrated with songs.

Lastly, Taylor Swift, does make an appearance in the last act, which nicely rounds off the story told.

The fans must be delighted, proof of this is the over 75 million views its has received.
