Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios have officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed turn-based tactical game. The announcement was made last night during the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, Games Workshop’s annual festival dedicated to licensed video games. The event culminated in the world premiere of the reveal trailer for this awaited sequel.

A New Chapter in the Warhammer Saga

In Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, players will experience the resurgence of the Necron tomb world. The narrative kicks off with Vargard Nefershah awakening her dynasty’s legions to annihilate the Adeptus Mechanicus interlopers who have unknowingly settled on her world. Meanwhile, across the galaxy, Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to leverage his hard-won expertise to prevent the Necrons from succeeding. The ensuing conflict transforms into a crucible of unforeseen significance, attracting even stranger and more deadly external actors.

Playable Factions and Strategic Depth

A notable addition to the sequel is the ability for players to not only battle as the Adeptus Mechanicus but also as the Necrons, with both factions now fully playable across multiple campaigns. Strategic gameplay remains at the forefront, with players managing their territories’ garrisons and assembling forces for each mission from an expanded selection of fighters from each faction. New environmental mechanics will necessitate strategic maneuvering and leveraging each faction’s unique strengths and weaknesses—taking cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus or destroying it as the Necrons.

Immersive Audio and Engaging Storytelling

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II continues to bring the Warhammer universe to life with awe-inspiring music and sound design by the critically acclaimed composer Guillaume David. The gripping continuation of the Mechanicus saga is penned by veteran author Ben Counter, best known for his Black Library novels. The epic conflict is skillfully woven through multiple campaigns, replete with narrative events that shape not only the course of the war but also its climactic outcome based on player choices.

Coming Soon

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is set for release on Windows PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S. With its blend of strategic depth, immersive storytelling, and compelling gameplay mechanics, this sequel promises to be a significant addition to the Warhammer universe.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the release date.
