The show is hosted by Leomie Anderson, a British model and businesswoman, and features judges Val Garland and Dominic Skinner, both of whom are renowned makeup artists.

The fifth season was released on Netflix on September 12.

The show has four seasons, with the most recent one premiering in May 2022. Each season follows the same basic format, with the contestants competing in a series of challenges that test their makeup skills. The challenges vary from creating looks for different fashion shoots to transforming models for runway shows.

The contestants are eliminated one by one until there is only one left, who is crowned the winner of Glow Up. The winner receives a prize package that includes a contract to work with some of the biggest names in the beauty industry.

Nine make-up artists are vying for the opportunity to showcase their skills in a beauty campaign for the renowned global brand, Sephora. As part of the creative brief, they will also have the chance to express the essence of their hometowns through their make-up artistry.

Ghosts

On the set of Ghosts, the makeup artists (MUAs) become frightened as they work together in pairs to create realistic plague victims. Over at Glow Up Studios, their special effects skills are put to the test as they create looks inspired by different zodiac signs.

TikTok

The MUAs are reaching millions of viewers through P. Louise’s TikTok live broadcast. Their goal at Glow Up Studios is to impress the audience with a makeup look inspired by their #core.

Metaverse Fashion Week

The MUAS face a challenging task as they collaborate in teams to create digital looks for Adidas at Metaverse Fashion Week. Following that, they are presented with the creative brief of designing oversized cartoon-inspired looks.

Viva Glam Campaign

It’s time for drag week! Supervised by Trixie Mattel from Drag Race, this is the most challenging task for the MUAs yet. They will be working on famous drag artists before doing drag on themselves.

Brit Awards

During the Brit Awards, MUA Hector Espinal takes on the role of judging the MUAs as they strive to prepare celebrities for the red carpet. Back in the studio, the competition among the makeup artists intensifies as they vie for a spot in the final round.

The Master of Masterclasses

The MUAs’ ultimate task is to conduct a masterclass in front of Hrush, the MUA for the Kardashians, along with other notable professionals in the industry at Harvey Nicks. The individual who will be declared as Britain’s Next Make-Up Star remains to be seen.
