“Sweet Home” is a South Korean series starring Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, and Lee Si-young.
If the first season was surprising (especially due to its monsters), in this second season, we will see more monsters and more action, all while developing the characters we already know.
“Sweet Home” is a series that goes beyond showing monsters (which it does), but it also has a whole plot and many elements that make it a new Korean series success.
Synopsis
As humanity descends into savagery, unleashing terror, a troubled teen and his apartment neighbors valiantly struggle to survive, fighting to preserve their very essence.
“Mankind is a virus, and monsters are the vaccine”
About the second season of “Sweet Home”
More of the same? “Sweet Home” doesn’t abandon the aspects that made it so famous, but from the first minute, you can notice that the CGI has evolved, and we witness a simply spectacular first episode, worthy of the best action movie or a video game: action, chases, and yes, monsters.
As we know, these creatures are no longer the mindless bloodthirsty beings they seemed to be at first, and the evolution is evident: the story gains much more strength with the two hybrids of monsters and humans, which bring all the charm to the series.
As is usual in Korean productions, “Sweet Home” has a significant part of its appeal in the ensemble formula, where all characters are important. It’s not a new invention either, but these series know how to give depth and participation to each one of its characters, and you can see the good work of the screenwriters, who don’t limit themselves to render typical characters to prepare the action scenes, but give them value, with interesting, evolving, and attractive stories.
“Sweet Home” doesn’t invent anything either but is based on so many good ideas that, evolved and subjected to good screenwriting, result in an incredibly entertaining and fun product, spectacular, and surely will please the fans, who were already missing a continuation two years after the release of the first season.
Our opinion
If you like video games, don’t miss it. Besides, it has a script and characters that have a lot to offer. A very intelligent series that knows how to give the audience what they want.
