A ten part sci-fi/adventure series with an interesting premise, well crafted CGI, and loads of comic book references.

Review
One mores series from the Netflix production line that manages to mix elements in a way that will probably be of the liking to quite a big segment of the audience…. On this occasion there is nothing groundbreaking in the series, it is full of references to comics and the close resemblance to many a Marvel story is more than obvious, but, hey, they do it knowingly.
It is entertaining and the characters are a bit more relatable than in other series in this genre. The script is light, with a few jokes here and there, at times burlesque. The actors over-act, and it makes me wonder if it is a deliberate choice in this show given its target audience and the theme, could it be referred to as “caricatured acting”? Given its “comic-booky” foundation, it is not entirely implausible that the cast is required to recur to a theatrical style of acting.
When it comes to the cinematography I cannot help but think of The Umbrella Academy (2019). They use the same filters, blueish tones, dark, a lot of contrast. It must be the trademark of contemporary TV shows in the sci-fi-fantasy genre. It evokes the mystery. Mention should also be made to the CGI in this series, since it is well crafted, with thoroughly designed creatures.
The premise of the story is good, and full of potential. It is not original, nor novel, but it is material that is always entertaining for those who enjoy sci-fi and fantasy. This will be an addition to the list of series to watch for the teen and YA audience. If you liked The Umbrella Society, you will probably like The Imperfects.
Our Opinion
It is a good series as far as a TV show goes. The acting is theatrical or “caricatured”, staying true to the genre, with self-referential irony. Full of references to comic books, with a good tempo, lighthearted script, and well crafted CGI, it will have an audience.
