News | Stephen Friedman Gallery

Stephen Friedman Gallery will be available in August for private appointments only, with the exception of the two-week gallery closure from Monday 10 to Friday 21 August. Yinka Shonibare CBE‘s monumental work ‘Justice for All‘ will remain on display. Installed in the gallery’s Viewing Room, the sculpture is visible from the street and illuminated 24/7, giving the work the public focus it deserves.

We look forward to welcoming you back in September 2020 with a special exhibition in celebration of the gallery’s 25th anniversary. New and historic works by each of the gallery’s 29 artists will be featured in the show. Taking place in both galleries on Old Burlington Street in Mayfair, its home since 1995, this unique event will showcase the diversity of the gallery programme by celebrating its history whilst also looking ahead to the future. The exhibition will be accompanied by an illustrated catalogue looking back at the past 25 years, with contributions including texts by Mamma AnderssonMarcia FortesJennifer HiggieHoward Rachofsky and David Shrigley.
