Sweet Tooth is a series created by Jim Mickle and Beth Schwartz starring Nonso Anozie and Christian Convery. Based on the comic book by Jeff Lemire.
Today, Thursday the 27th, we get the second season of this charming story that mixes a post-apocalypse scenario with Spielberg’s E.T. vibes in a truly surprising and engaging way.
We don’t know what Cormac McCarthy might think about it, but we love it.
About the Series
Emotion, adventures, and that childish charm, with a naive touch of Goonies, E.T., and all that 80s style that captivates us, but updated to match the brutal modernity of The Last of Us… All of this well done and with characters created to reach… our hearts, but to proceed to open-heart surgery with no anesthesia.
It may be that the formulas are somewhat obvious, that the series is too direct, that it lacks subtlety in the treatment… Sweet Tooth was a spectacle from the beginning and this second season is no less, but taking the adventure one step further regarding pace, full steam ahead and giving it all in the action scenes.
A curious combination of sentiment, fantasy, post-apocalypse and, above all, lots and lots of adventure.
A delight for the young (and not so young).
Very well made and exquisite at the production level, a series of the highest quality, which you can tell by how carefully shots are done.
