He’s handsome, she’s beautiful, and together they are just stunning. . and more. They’ve known each other since they were kids, their grandmothers go to the beach together, and they both work in the fashion world. What did you expect? It’s going to be difficult for them, but they have an “unexpected” ally: the equally wonderful Turkish landscape.
Make Me Believe is, in case anyone hadn’t imagined it, a romantic comedy that you can enjoy on Netflix starting this Friday.
About the Movie
It has all the arguments that a good romantic comedy should have. Like in life, there are romantic comedies that focus on wit, while others, like this one, want to portray the world of the beautiful and cool in an innocent and approachable way to reach the widest possible audience.
Above all, it doesn’t want to offend with too spicy jokes or politically incorrect jokes.
It’s a light movie, quite innocent, and based on the “protagonist landscape,” the paradisiacal Turkish environment that, by the way, serves to attract tourists to the country by bringing two of Turkey’s movie stars together in a “formula” movie.
You know, don’t expect much. It doesn’t have any particular interest in cinematography, and it’s a story that we’ve seen thousands of times, but that still pleases in its literal application of the concept.
It’s the kind of movie you watch and say, “Wow, they’re so beautiful!”
Our Opinion
Cinematographically, it’s entirely dispensable. A movie to fatten the industry with a pre-designed product to please the least demanding fans and the most eager hearts for pleasure.
A wonderful landscape and two extremely attractive actors.
Plot
A pair of meddling grannies dupe their grandchildren into a meet-cute that rekindles childhood crushes — and past quibbles.
