Castlevania: Nocturne is a new animated series set in the Castlevania universe, premiering on Netflix on September 28, 2023. It is a sequel to the original Castlevania series, which was based on the Konami video game franchise of the same name.
Nocturne is set during the French Revolution, and follows the story of Richter Belmont, a descendant of the legendary vampire hunters. Richter must fight to uphold his family’s legacy and prevent the rise of a ruthless, power-hungry vampire ruler.
Plot
Richter Belmont teams up with Maria and a group of unlikely individuals with troubled pasts. Despite their tough appearances, they possess powerful shape-shifting abilities. Together, they strive to stop the vampire messiah from taking over. As they fight to save humanity, they are confronted with existential dilemmas and must confront their own painful pasts. With the vampires poised to plunge the world into darkness forever, time is of the essence, and intense drama unfolds.
