Review of “Class Act”

This biographical series has a great advantage: it features a fantastic protagonist with a captivating story to tell. Beyond any personal sympathies we may have for the main character, the story of this self-made Frenchman possesses great strength.

Is he a charlatan, a salesman? The series delves into the complex personality of a man who dared to dream of becoming a millionaire and achieved his dreams through risky plans and, above all, with a lot of faith and a sense of adventure.

Aesthetically, the series skillfully recreates the seventies and eighties, both visually and rhythmically. “Class Act” takes us on a journey through time, exploring the life of a man who knew how to adapt to the entertainment industry he loved so much since his youth.

Politician, businessman, actor… he became an emblematic figure for France who, consumed or not by his own ambition, turned his life into an adventure.

This is an adventure involving politics, business, and football, in fact, a lot of football, and that revolves around the life of the former president of Olympique de Lyon, who won the Champions League against Berlusconi’s A. Milan with van Basten on the team.

Our Opinion

“Class Act” doesn’t deceive: it knows it has a great central character, and doesn’t hesitate to focus on his overpowering personality to create an entertaining portrait of a man who left his mark on a specific era and time.

This series delves into the character beyond the events and gives us an intimate and, at least in terms of cinematography, convincingly coherent portrayal.
