This time around, Netflix has decided to release one episode per week, as they rarely do, but have done with other Korean series. “Destined with You” made us laugh, was amusing, and, above all, surprised us with its strange mix of genres, which include horror, romantic comedy, and Korean legends.
It’s a unique series that, while not strictly a comedy, incorporates comedic elements into its narrative, and seamlessly transitioning to a more tragic tone without sacrificing either.
The highlight of the series is Jo Bo-ah, whose character captivates viewers with her naivety, while quirkily humoristic, and rather clumsy, making countless blunders. To contrast the role she has taken on, there is Rowoon, who plays his role with minimalist reaction and an unwavering composure.
