Gamera -Rebirth- is a Japanese animation series produced by Kadokawa Corporation and animated by ENGI. The series was released on September 7, 2023 worldwide.

Synopsis

The series is set in the summer of 1989, and follows the story of four kids in Tokyo who witness the emergence of Gamera, a giant turtle kaiju who bravely stands up against giant human-eating monsters. The series is directed by Niisan Takahashi and features the voice talents of Hisako Kanemoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Aki Toyosaki.

Gamera is a colossal turtle kaiju (monster) that can fly and breathe fire. It originated from a series of Japanese films and made its debut in 1965 with “Gamera, the Giant Monster. The purpose of creating the character and the first film was to rival the success of Toho’s Godzilla film series.
