During the late 1980s and early 1990s, in the era of Hulk Hogan and Sylvester Stallone, the most-watched television program in America was American Gladiators, a game show that traveled across the country, featuring muscular athletes pummeling daring contestants.
The entire nation was hooked on these displays of strength and skill, a quintessentially American television spectacle that showcased attractive athletes with personality and charisma.
But what was behind the program? One can imagine: stories of drugs, sex, merchandising. . documentary series that serves to reminisce about those wonderful years with MC Hammer, years of excess that, with the perspective of time, don’t seem as glamorous anymore.
