Us (2019)

Us is a 2019 horror movie starring Lupita Nyong’o. It is written and directed by Jordan Peele.

Plot

The year is 1986. Young Adelaide and her parents go to a funfair at Santa Cruz Beach. While her parents are distracted, Adelaide is drawn into a funhouse and once she enters the hall of mirrors she encounters her double, which is a frightful experience that leaves her seriously traumatized.

Years pass, and now Adelaide is grown and has a family of her own together with her husband, Gabe (Gabriel) Wilson.

She and Gabe take their two children, Zora and Jason, to Santa Cruz to enjoy their summer vacation by the beach. Nightime falls, they are in the summer house when, first spotted by Jason, a family of four appears at their driveway. Their silhouettes hold an uncanny resemblance to the Wilson family. As events unfold it becomes obvious that these strangers are in fact doppelgängers, and they are there to replace them.
