Before Nightfall is Speak Percussion’s ongoing collaboration with guest artists. Artists collaborate across a single day, exchanging ideas on location, and present their findings in a free performance to the public that evening.
Gertrude is pleased to share that Gertrude Studio Program alum James Nguyen and collaborator Amias Hanley will be working together at Gertrude Contemporary for Speak Percussion’s Before Nightfall #15. The performance itself, Before Nightfall #15, will be presented onsite at Gertrude Contemporary on Saturday 21 May at 7pm.
Speak Percussion has shaped the sound of Australian percussive music through the creation and presentation of ambitious arts projects, including over 130 commissions and premieres of new percussion works. Internationally recognised as a leader in the fields of experimental and contemporary classical music, Speak is constantly seeking to redefine the potential of percussion.
