Saltburn is a movie written and directed by Emerald Fennell starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, and Richard E. Grant.
In 2006, in exclusive Oxford, a shy boy named Oliver befriends another boy who is rich, handsome, aristocratic, and very popular, named Felix. Oliver loses his father and Felix invites him to Saltburn, the family mansion: complete with a butler, high ceilings, and a few appalling Rubens paintings, according to Felix.
And thus begins this story about seemingly poor and insecure people and seemingly rich and perverse people who smoke a lot while discussing Lord Byron.

Twisted and somewhat perverse, the plot of “Saltburn” is charming, even though it is somewhat predictable, mainly due to its visual proposal.
“Saltburn” is an elegant film that, more than being interesting in its story, transports us to its atmosphere and engages us in its narrative and rhythm, gradually captivating us and making us unintentionally immersed in its unique rhythm.
“Saltburn” is a film that is enjoyed while watching, appreciated, and promises to go further, contenting itself with taking us to a more or less classic conspiracy thriller where, yes, the characters will give us a few surprises. It is a satire and, deep down, a comedy to be discovered behind the appearance of a mystery film.
Admirable in all technical aspects, with a wonderful soundtrack and well-crafted editing. Superb sets and stylized photography, with intricate shots that are a visual delight.
Our opinion:
Noteworthy for being different and for Emerald Fennell’s undeniable sense of aesthetics. It promises a more “perverse” and twisted plot than it actually delivers, but it is an intelligent, aesthetic, and genuine entertainment.
