Premise
Jewelry works in mysterious ways in this movie that tells the story of a woman whose life is upended when an engagement ring meant for someone else leads her to the person she’s meant to be with.
About the Movie
Set in New York, up to Christmas, we are presented to these adorable lead characters that are in a story that is baked into a screenplay with all the required ingredients of the genre. Simple, chipper, light, and formulaic.
Counting on the charming Zoey Deutch and the stunning Kendrick Sampson in the lead roles, with their good performances (especially, Sampson’s) they pull off sympathetic characters.
Why it is under the comedy genre, raises wonder. There is nothing overtly nor implicitly comedic about this movie. It is rather a romantic feel-good film.
An addition to this year’s Christmas movie catalogue. If you are seeking a feel-good movie, formulaic and predictable, this might be one of the best options of the sort.
