Blood is a horror film directed by Brad Anderson starring Michelle Monaghan.
A horror film in which, curiously, the acting is outstanding.
And this is not exactly good for the genre: don´t do much scarin’.

Blood is a movie that, despite its title, does not cause an impact that it should in the retina of the viewer, at least for a (supposedly) horror film.
This is a good movie in all senses, from the technical level all the way to the development of the characters and the settings. It has rhythm and takes its time to do the presentations, in developing the feelings of the child and the dog correctly, but this development, which is kind of tiresome, will detract the horror from the fans who expect something a little more impacting, and above all, horrifying.
Blood, in this sense, is almost a realistic film with suspense. The drama of a woman saving her child from a disease is well developed but it is a little too dramatic (Michelle Monaghan is very good in her role), and when this drama tenses up, the rhythm of the story pulls it back.
Very good sound effects, in the editing and the two children.
This movie is good at converting itself and being viewed as not just another horror film, but this mix does not convince those who are asking for a drama or a horror film.
It navigates between two currents that don´t merge in the end.
Our Opinion
It loses out on the horror side and gains on the acting side in a movie that doubtlessly was asking for something very different.

- Michelle Monaghan was born on March 23, 1976 in Winthrop, Iowa.
- She attended Chicago’s Columbia College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
- She began her acting career in 1995 with a small part on the TV show Home Improvement.
- In 2002, she gained recognition for her role as Kimberly Woods in the movie The Bourne Supremacy and as Maggie Hart in the HBO series True Detective.
- She has appeared in many other well-known films including Source Code (2011), Mission: Impossible III (2006) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005).
- In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, yoga and cooking with her husband Peter White.
- She is a supporter of the charity Stand Up to Cancer and other cancer awareness campaigns.
